ALLIANCE 4
// ABOUT

An old road. A new world.

One world for Java & Bedrock players. Both editions can join Alliance 4 and play together.

“A mysterious ancient roadway spans across a vast new world.”

Follow the highway into the unknown, find a place to call home, and help shape the story of Alliance 4.

Elevated highways cross a mountainous Minecraft landscape and converge at a tall central tower topped with a 4, above the water.
The highway stretches across the world of Alliance 4. Where will it take you?

Survival, together

In Survival mode, you gather materials, craft tools, grow food and build shelter. Monsters and other hazards make exploration an adventure, and what you create is earned through play.

A world for the long run

Our goal is to keep the same world going for as long as possible, with no world resets. We intend to keep the server running as long as someone plays on it at least once a month—potentially indefinitely. Your builds will remain in that world indefinitely unless a player mines, dismantles or destroys them, or the server is shut down due to lack of use. Build something lasting, put down roots, and return to your projects over the years.

Semi-anarchy: freedom with boundaries

Semi-anarchy means players have lots of freedom, with a few important rules. Player-versus-player combat (PvP) and griefing—damaging or taking things from another player’s unprotected builds—are allowed. Repeated targeting, bullying and harassment are not.

Protect your home

Claims reserve a patch of land and restrict other players from changing it or accessing protected belongings. Alliance 4 will use GriefPrevention’s default protection settings, with a planned claim radius of 20 blocks (41 × 41 blocks including the center). Your first chest creates a smaller starter claim using the default setting: a four-block radius, or 9 × 9 blocks. Use the golden shovel to create or resize your claim. Protection applies inside your claim, not everywhere you travel.

For the best chance of avoiding griefing, travel to a remote location away from spawn and the highway, then claim your base. Serious damage to major builds may be rolled back by an admin, at their discretion, if requested. Restoration is not guaranteed.

Dynamic view distance: 6–32 chunks. This controls how far the server sends terrain for you to see.
Dynamic simulation distance: 4–8 chunks. This controls how far nearby world activity is processed. Both adjust with server load to balance visibility and performance. Your game’s own settings can limit what you see.
Managed with ViewDistanceTweaks; performance profiling with spark (bundled with Paper).
